Microsoft 'Acrylic'
Beta version of Microsoft's 'Acrylic' graphics application. For 'natural' vector and pixel art. Not quite sure what its really for. I suppose it's like Corel Painter because of its attempts to simulate natural drawing media. It's no Photoshop. This beta version is currently free to download.

The Latest version of Adobe's Photoshop Elements for PC. Basically a cut down version of Photoshop, with a far lower pricetag. Powerful enough for the home user or within the educational environment.

Art Rage
Natural painting software for use with graphics tablets, Tablet PCs etc. It works quite nicely, and it's free. http://www.ambientdesign.com/artrage.html

|
Corel Painter IX
Natural painting software. Simulates different art media such as watercolour, ink, crayon and charcoal. For creating digital artworks from scratch, rather than manipulating existing images. Works very well for a perseverant user - don't expect to get instant results.
